Multiple Teams · Blue Flame Cross Country Competes at Hillcrest High School

This past Saturday the Blue Flame Cross Country teams were at it again, this time racing the challenging course at Hillcrest High School. In the Girls Varsity race, the Lady Blue Flame were led by 7th Grader Grace Newman who placed 18th overall in the race with a time of 20:57. 8th Grader Campbell Sherwood ran one of her best times of the season with a time of 24:47.

In the Boys Varsity race, the Blue Flame were led by Senior Dylan Bray who ran a time of 18:29, and the Blue Flame had four runners finish under 20 minutes in the race including Senior Jackson Masters 19:07, 7th Grader Chase Ashe 19:45, and Freshman Landon Howell 19:46. 7th grader Adam Ellis ran his personal best time of the season with a time of 20:16.

After the race, Coach Furr said, “I am really proud of our kids’ effort today on a very challenging course. This is one of those races where you grow and learn from it. I have no doubt that our kids will come back to work this week and continue to get better.”

The Blue Flame will run at Wren High School for the final time this season on Thursday October 15th.
