Pickens traveled to Berea for the first regular season game of the year.  The Blue Flames came out the gate fast and continued the momentum to a 15-1 win over the Bulldogs.

Ryan Ford pitched 3 strong innings and did not allow a run with 4 strike outs.  Hunter Wilson, Drake Powell, Pine Sanders and CJ Martin combined to pitch the final 3 innings.

The hitting was paced by Case Lewis who went 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored and 1 RBI . Drew Campbell led the team with 3 RBIs with a bases clearing double. 5 other Blue Flame batters had one hit apiece.


On Thursday, March 12th the Blue Flame traveled to their county Rivals, the Easley Green Wave.  Easley came out of the gate fast with a lead-off triple by Kasten Harvey who eventually plated the first run for the Green Wave after a 2-run HR by Ben Freeman.

Easley scored 2 more runs in the 2nd and then it was a pitcher dual the rest of the way with Easley only able to score 1 more run.  The Blue Flame did come through with 4 hits in the game but could not score a run against strong Easley pitching.

The Blue Flame sent out Hunter Wilson who pitched 3 innings of good work against a good hitting Green Wave team.  Ryan Ford came in and threw 3 innings of 1 hit ball and did not allow a run.  Wilson and Ford both had 2 strike outs apiece against only 1 walk.

On Friday, March 13th the Blue Flame returned home to the friendly confines of their home field.  Pickens again had good luck against the visiting Berea Bulldogs.  The Blue Flame were able to score early and often in running away with the ballgame 16-1.

Tanner Tinsley pitched the first 2 innings.  After allowing the first batter in each inning to reach he was able to force Berea to hit into double plays in both innings to allow no runs in 2 innings of work.  Drake Powell pitched the last 3 innings for the Blue Flame.

The Blue Flame were led in the hitting department by Pine Sanders who went 2 for 3 with 3 RBIs.  Braxton Lamance was another Blue Flame batter who had multiple RBIs with 2.
