On Wednesday afternoon the Pickens Blue Flame Cross Country teams were at it again, this time running in the Pickens County Championship races at Easley High School. Senior Olivia Wilson paced the girls with a 9th place finish overall in the race and a time of 24:26. Sophomores Holly Newman and Amber Clark both finished in the top 25 and 8th grader Juiliana Hernandez finished top 30 in the race. For the boys, Junior Dylan Bray paced the boys with an 8th place finish overall in the race and a time of 19:17, which is a season best for him. Senior Keaton Moore and Juniors Jackson Masters and Levi Shelton all three had top 20 finishes in the race as well. The boys had 7 runners finish top 30 overall in the race. After the race, Coach Furr stated, “Our team continues to work every single day and it shows in these difficult races like today.” The Blue Flame Cross Country teams will host their last home meet of the season next Tuesday October 1st at 5:30 pm for the girls’ race and 6:15 pm for the boys’ race.
